The Associate in Aviation Electronics Technology is a two-year college program designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in aviation electronics and avionics systems. Through classroom instruction, laboratory activities, and hands-on training, students are introduced to aircraft electrical systems, communication and navigation equipment, electronic instruments, avionics components, wiring, maintenance procedures, and aviation safety practices.
The program emphasizes technical precision, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and adherence to industry standards and safety procedures. Students gain practical experience through laboratory exercises, skills training, and hands-on activities that simulate real-world aviation maintenance environments, preparing them to understand, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot various aircraft electronic and electrical systems.
Upon completion, graduates may pursue employment opportunities in avionics, aircraft maintenance, and related aviation fields, obtain relevant certifications and specialized training, or continue their education through a ladderized bachelor’s degree program. The program provides students with a strong technical foundation for professional growth and further advancement in the aviation industry.
